Doug Kaplan purchased fax.com's number database from a former fax.com
employee and is sending out their
travel faxes using this database. So if you formerly got fax.com faxes and are
now getting these faxes, it's not surprising.
You've been hit by Kaplan and his associates if you got a fax saying
something like this:
- 5 days and 4 nights in Orlando
- Fun in the Sun (As Seen on TV)
- response number: 800-617-6442; Remove number: 800-603-1712
which looks like this:
Doug Kaplan was fax.com's 2nd largest customer
(Frank Frappier was the sales rep who handled Doug).
They used to be at 407-215-8565 and were located at 460 State Rd. 436,
Casselberry, FL 32707. They used the company name IMC. 30-40 Telemarketers
worked out of the office there but they moved out in late 2004.

Morgan. said total for the package was $315 for my family and they do a "check
by phone" to pay for it. Hotels are Radisson Worldgate (Radisson Barcelo

East Universal Studios. Theme park tickets are for Disney Pleasure Island only.

The purchase was apparently mediated through BSM Travel, which apparently
serves as a hub for a bunch of these travel companies. I don't know if they're
"in" on anything, but their address is:

The reps at BSM Travels told me that the merchant account used to purchase
my travel package had since been "shut down," and that I needed to
file a claim with my bank to get the money back - no skin of Mr. Kaplan's back
if my bank's insurance pays for it. I've been calling BSM four of five times a
day, trying to get through to supervisors who will give me information about
the owners of this now allegedly defunct merchant account
